The Golden Ball was recommended to me by The best of Telford so we dropped in for dinner. Very nice food and the staff were very friendly even though we arrived quite late.

Lovely traditional pub with a warm fire. Had a great pint of real ale and a sherry! Good atmosphere - will return soon.

We absolutely LOVE "The Lacquered Knacker" - as its affectionately known! We go there every other Friday for lunch (girl stuff) and it never fails to please. Food is always fantastic, the staff fabulous - so friendly - and the white wine always COLD! Super place. Recommend to anyone.

Food never fails to please.

Very family orientated pub.  Hosts very welcoming.  Recommended local pub for families, regulars and visitors.  Log fire in winter - excellent.

Excellent, well priced, home-cooked food - very pleasant staff, always welcoming to locals and those outside of Ironbridge - great beers, fantastic homely atmosphere - best pub in Ironbridge by a long shot.

There is sufficient staff to adapt to the demands of a thirsty cliental during the most busy periods which means that although it is crowded I have never had to wait more than several minutes before I was served.  At some pubs you can be there for 10 minutes before you even get recognition from the staff, but not at the Ball as even if there is a queue, you get an acknowledgement immediately and a kind word that they will be with you momentarily and they do what they say.  The food has a nice variety unlike most pubs normal staple, the portions are large and all are well served with amenities and maybe most importantly the food is rather tasty not bland as in the majority of other pubs.  Additionally, from what I have seen it is freshly made, not poured out of a sack or tin and prepared to order.  When being served the staff is equally attentive, professional and efficient which is what one should expect when parting with hard earned cash.  Unfortunately, we do have to part with our cash for goods and services, and it is much easier doing so when you feel that you have received value for money of which the Ball does very successfully.  Thus, my expectations for going to Ball are based on reliable and tasty food, quick responsive service at a reasonable price which it does hands down.

From the second we walked in, the welcome we recieved and the excelent beer and food on offer we realised we had come across a real pub at last.

Friendly welcome and considerate attitude to both locals and visitors.  Will always have the patience to listen to customers requirements and go out of their way to fullfil any wish.

Very atmospheric place, feel very welcome the moment you walked through the door, friendly and speedy service.  Enjoyable place!

Recommendation for a lovely meal in a relaxing historic pub.

We ate at the Golden Ball last Saturday for the first time, the service was friendly and quick, the steak was good and the atmosphere enjoyable.
We did not take up the offer of the free wine as we had a couple of beers.
