Welcome to the Wine and Sausage restaurant. Classic British food partnered with some of the world's finest wines, bringing the ultimate in South West cuisine right to the heart of Taunton.

Located in the Corner House Hotel, the Wine and Sausage bar and restaurant is one of Taunton’s hidden gems. Combining two of life’s greatest pleasures, Wine and Sausage boasts a menu of mouth watering British dishes – not just sausages – and a large stock of hand-picked wines, making it Taunton’s top spot for food and wine buffs.

Set in a beautiful, old Victorian gothic parsonage, the first thing that strikes you about Wine and Sausage is the atmosphere. Beautiful period features combine with a modern, elegant touch to welcome people in to browse, drink, eat and be merry at this restaurant, bar and wine shop.

Diners are spoiled for choice, as the emphasis is on locally and seasonally sourced ingredients that show off the best Somerset and the South West has to offer. Andy James is the head chef and the genius behind the Wine and Sausage menu. He lends his expertise to producing a menu that’s keen to produce the highest quality British food. From classic comfort food including Sausage and Mash, to Toad in the Hole, Beef Wellington and a range of delicious fish, vegetarian and meat dishes.

Of course, no meal is complete without a splash of wine to wash it all down. Wine and Sausage prides itself on selecting only the finest wines and has a monthly tasting panel of experts, including head chef, Andy to ensure the shelves are stocked with the best.

Whether you’re enjoying a meal in the dining room, relaxing in the bar or just fancy a bottle of something special for a dinner party at home, there’s always someone on hand at Wine and Sausage to discuss the best choice for your needs. There are over 20 wines from the old and new world always available by the glass, customers are encouraged to sample the wines, so why not try before you buy?

There’s always a warm welcome at Wine and Sausage from the team of friendly and knowledgeable staff. Restaurant diners can book a wine tasting session prior to their evening meal – a fun way to learn more about wine and get the evening off to a swinging start. And if you over-indulge, you can always book yourself one of the 44 contemporary rooms at the Corner House hotel and flop for the night.

Wine and Sausage also caters for corporate parties who may also use the meeting rooms and facilities at the Corner House. Corporate wine tasting events with a Wine and Sausage expert always go down well – almost as well as the wine.

Having attended two events now (Wine & Sausage Tasting) and Port & Cheese evening I have to say the Wine & Sausage is a revelation. A real commitment to quality and service in an environemnt that is homely and professional at the same time. Well done, highly recommended!
