The Good Things were born out of a plethora of musical soups, with their mix of classic 70s style hooks, 80s style melodies and anthemic, powerful vocals making for a unique contemporary sound.
Rock music was invented because there was nothing for sex to dance to, and The Good Things' music fills that hard rock gap that has been missing since the late 70s. With a sleazy truck driver rock sound lent from the likes of Guns & Roses, AC/DC and Nickelback, a mash up of pop/rock influences - such as Gavin Degraw, The Stereophonics and Fall Out Boy - and even a modicum of Motown, TGT have constructed a sound of uplifting hooks and melodies, brewing up one catchy rock act.
The band have been gigging all around South Wales, headlining top venues and supporting top signed acts such as Sierra Alpha and 4th Street Traffic. In 2009, TGT were finalists at the acclaimed "Barco Battle of the Bands" in Swansea, played at Barfly Cardiff, headlined the Cardiff Mardi Gras live stage and played at London's O2 Arena amassing an army of noisy, horny fans along the way.
Fresh out of recording with internationally acclaimed producers at the Animal Farm studios in London, The Good Things will be releasing three singles over Summer and Autumn '10, projecting them regionally and nationally..."We have no problem with our music, it's getting ears to listen to it, this maybe ticket to the masses" - certainly exciting times ahead for the Welsh five-some..
Available now is the debut 4 track EP Lighten Up. Stay Tantric, recorded at The Sound Company Studio and co-produced with Andy Rosser Davies - producer and lead guitarist for world famous metal band Onslaught.
