Plans have been announced today to launch a local TV service for Swansea Bay.
This is a fantastic bit of news.
Whilst there are no plans to compete with Sky or the BBC the service will focus on local news featuring the Swansea Bay area.
There will be a strong community bias to the news as well as covering local sporting events in greater depth than seen at the moment.
The service which will go live in September 2014 will work closely with the University and local colleges to provide valuable work experience opportunity for local people.
