Barry Connolly who runs Job Club said:

"What I do really is write CVs. My colleague Mike helps with laptop use or with other requirements of the Job Centre, such as getting on the Government Gateway. People are welcome just to come in and use our laptops or Mike will support them if necessary. We can also offer help with advice for interviews.

On Wednesdays we’ve received help for the past three years from Alison Hayes. She has a background in HR and is really good with our clients who have particular problems, such as wanting a change of career. Quite often people help each other.

We try to create a relaxed atmosphere as part of our attempts to boost the confidence of people who are often shattered by suddenly becoming unemployed."
