Shop Local this Valentine's and support your High Street….

Despite these challenging times, one local business has set up a campaign to promote shopping local to support small independent businesses.

Hairdressing salon owners, Des and Tracie Webb of Fatal Attraction, located in North Street Sudbury have recently celebrated 31 years of trading in town. In the past they have faced some difficult challenges, most notably the global financial crisis in 2007/8, so they have proven they have what it takes to be in business and to be resilient. They continue to provide an excellent and very much appreciated service to all their clients, despite the continued impact of the pandemic.

Last year has been very challenging to so many people in so many ways, however moving into 2021 there is at least hope on the horizon with the nation’s vaccination programme now well underway. Des and Tracie believe it’s a time for small market towns like Sudbury to thrive, as the bigger towns and cities are being hit hard and sadly many larger shops and department stores have already been closed down. Small independent businesses all have something in common, they are unique and special; offering a wide variety of quality products with a personal level of customer service that will help keep our high street alive, but it will need the support of local residents.

The latest lockdown provided time for Des and Tracie to reflect over their years in business as well as develop an idea which involves their neighbouring businesses. By working together to raise awareness, they intend to promote all businesses taking part to their respective clients, sharing news that although their shops may be closed, they are still open for business and to shop on-line or order over the phone as many are still offering a click & collect or delivery service. Each business will also be contacting their customers by email or direct messaging on social media to invite them to nominate someone they know (a friend or family member) who has gone over and above during the pandemic to help others. A nominated person chosen by each business will be entered into a prize draw to win a fabulous Valentine’s Gift Hamper, packed full of goodies, donated by the businesses taking part, to show them just how much they are appreciated and loved!

The Valentine’s Gift Hamper includes:
