They are a team of experienced musculoskeletal physios (physiotherapists that specialise in a broad range of conditions including neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, calf pain, Achilles tendon pain, post-surgical rehabilitation and women's health)

If you’re looking for a respected team of physiotherapists, this will give you an idea of what to expect from when you book your first appointment to working back to peak health.

How do you get a referral?

You can be referred to Physio Motive in several ways;

  • Self-referral, contacting Physio Motive directly,  by calling 07419 589263 or emailing info@physiomotive.co.uk
  • Through your medical insurance, these include Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Vitality. (You can see who Physio Motive work with on their website here. Follow the link at the bottom that allows you to choose your insurance provider)
  • A consultant referral.

You do not need to see your GP for your musculoskeletal pain.  Physio Motive are trained to diagnose, treat your symptoms and guide you back to functioning to your best ability. They also have great links with local GPs and consultants, so if they think your symptoms require further investigation then they are able to make appropriate referrals.

Booking your appointment

When you book an appointment at Physio Motive, you will receive a booking confirmation via email so that you have peace of mind you have your appointment.

There is free parking and a comfortable waiting area. The clinic is easily accessible if you have mobility issues. You will be called in by one of the friendly physiotherapists to the air-conditioned clean clinic room.

Assessment

The first part of your assessment starts with you telling your story about your injury. You may be asked several questions to guide the assessment based on your symptoms. Together, you will discuss and set your physiotherapy goals so that your treatment can be targeted toward achieving your goals.

Once all the relevant information is gathered, you will be given a diagnosis. This may involve looking at how certain body parts move, performing specialist tests, and feeling the affected body part to assess the joint and soft tissues.

Diagnosis and treatment

Once your physio is confident with the diagnosis, they will fully explain your problem so that you understand what is going on, how it occurred and how to prevent it re-occurring.

They will prescribe a tailored treatment plan for you that may involve hands on treatment, home exercises and inform you how long it will take to get you back to your best functional ability in a realistic time.

Physio Motive pride itself on being an open and honest health care service that will get you back to your best functional ability in a realistic timeframe.
