Gloucestershire Police Warning

Police have warned local residents to beware of an internet sales scam involving pets.  Adverts are placed in a number of internet classifed ad sites offering puppies, kittens and even exotic animals such as monkeys or snakes.  Once contact is established with the seller, and a price agreed, the purchaser is asked to pay by overseas money transfer,  even tho' the pet is supposedly in the UK - police advise buyers to steer clear of these kind of adverts, and always have actual physical sight of the animal, in its own home, before agreeing to buy. Money sent on an overseas transfer is unlikely to be seen again!
