Most the intimate dance culture & style is generated from Latin American influences and & La Attica's dance venue certainly favours the Latin American styles, bringing together LeRoc (& Ceroc), Jive, Jazz, Salsa, Rock'n'Roll and many other dance styles into a beautiful mixture of freestyle dancing for individual expression. LeRoc dancing is perfect for all ages who wish to dance the night away in style and comfort. LeRoc is the French for rock 'n' roll & it derived from a marriage of jive and rock 'n' roll and is fun, stylish & modern and can be danced to virtually ANY music - big band, swing, jazz, rock and roll and even current chart hits!
La Attica doesn't just have a great dance floor and great dance music - they have great dance instructors too!
- ·Matt Kavanagh has 8 years experience as a competitive line dancer, including 2 years of tuition; he has completed 8 years of LeRoc, and taught for 18 months - he has competed nationall for 8 years and hasan incredible 39 dance titles to his name including 7 national "doubles Trouble Champion" (1 man leading 2 ladies).
- ·Sarah Price started to learn to dance at the tender age of 2½ & has completed 16 years of ballet (reaching Grade 6) and Tap & Modern Dance.She has also had 8 years experience in LeRoc and has been teaching for 18 months.
Both Matt & Sarah are qualified LeRoc teachers through the LeRoc Modern Jive Federation which is recognised by the UK Alliance of Dance Teachers (UKA).
La Attica is a fantastic venue for parties too - with a fully licensed drinks & coffee bar, and pleasant restrooms, with all the necessary facilities!If you are looking for a venue for a wedding reception, family or corporate function or event, office party or something to keep the teenagers occupied - then try La Attica - you really will have a great time! To give your party or event that extra edge, Clive's 1950's Pontiac Silver Streak, used in Annie, is also available for hire.

A new up to date dance venue with a specialist, wooden sprung dance floor and is temperature controlled.
Fabulous!!! Top Class!!! I just have to say a great big thank you to La Attica! Finding a good venue for a special and out of the ordinary 17th birthday party was proving more than a little tricky until I found La Attica through the Best of Stroud. I booked my daughter's 17th birthday party there, and what an amazing time she and her friends had...they are all still talking about it! Clive and Mandy, who run La Attica, went all out to make this a really special and very adult night with a really good reason for smart dressing and no trainers!...We had dance hall lighting, a soft drinks bar with teenage friendly nibbles, beautiful decorations including fresh flowers on the tables all themed on the colour orange as that was what my daughter wanted,two wonderful dance teachers called Matt and Sarah who provided a list of up to the minute music prior to the night for my daughter and her friends to choose all their favourites, an hour of dance tuition at the beginning of the party where the whole crowd learned how to do Le Roc (sophisticated French jive moves that can be done to chart toppers!!) an hour of fun trying out all the new moves, another hour of dance tuition building everyone's repertoire of dance steps even more, topped off with a final hour of freestyle dance time in which everyone but everyone danced Le Roc like they were made for it!!! My daughter has lots of male friends as well as girls and you know, this party really took a trick with them. They all joined in, they all smiled, they even commented to me on how much more fun it was than the parties they usually go to!!! Several of my daughter's friends have now decided to go to dance lessons on a regular basis at La Attica as they want to continue with the fun!!! This party was all I have ever wanted for my daughter and more....I had promised her a night to remember and with the help of La Attica and all the wonderful staff there I know that none of us will ever forget it!! Cheers Clive, Mandy, Matt and Sarah! A great big thank you from us all!! (And to anyone considering a party, I'd recommend you phone Clive and Mandy to arrange to go and see La Attica as as inside it is beautiful, you can observe a dance class to check out the style and ease of learning and you can take a peek at the lovely luxurious toilet facilities too!!)
