I enjoyed a lunch at the Rooftop Restaurant today. This was a first for me and definitely won't be the last. The service was excellent, our waitress couldn't have been anymore attentive, and the food was delicious.
Our first visit to see a production since the re-building of the theatre. The theatre is wonderful and we enjoyed an excellent pre-theatre meal in the rooftop restaurant. Robin Hood had great reviews and it lived up to our expectations, the story was very cleverly told - a fabulous production! Well done to everyone involved. Can't wait to visit again.
Had these tickets as a christmas present, was not disappointed at all. We had great seats so we could see everything. The production was amazing i loved the massive tree in the ceiling and the stage was brilliant. It had a fantastic atmosphere which made the night great. The cast were fantastic. Romance, drama, violence, comedy and acrobatics what more could you possibly want! Pierre or should i say big Pete was the highlight. Would happily see it again. A real family show.
Seeing a Shakespearean play performed in Stratford-Upon-Avon was a dream come true and the RSC lived up to its reputation. Everything from the stage design to the acting were superb. If you are here, a play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre is a must!
A captivating Christmas concoction from the RSC, The Heart of Robin Hood, will delight and entrance, writes JBR.
I wasnât sure what to expect from The Heart of Robin Hood but as soon as I walked into the circle (where we were sitting) I was amazed at the staging. It was cool that the actors slid down the slope that was made, and the platforms that opened out of the slope. It was sooooo good that when I got out I wanted to go again! I liked how the animals were played (they used different instruments to the animal noises) like Plug the dog was playing a clarinet to make his noises and it think that could go wrong but it was great. The story isnât quite the Robin Hood that I knew itâs about how Marian changes Robin but I wonât say any more so you can see for yourself. I donât have a favourite character/actor because they were all so great, the actors seemed as if they were all having a great time, so much so that the actress of Marine laughed but quickly got back into character. Overall the show was fabulous!!
I really enjoyed the performance or Robin Hood, I thought it was really good. I loved the scenery and how they slide down it. I also liked how most of the actors used ropes when they were acting, it made it even better. It was funny in parts and the actors were really good. It was really cool how platforms came out of the slope. I also loved how the actor playing plug (the dog) wasnât dressed up in a dog outfit but was just in casual clothes and instead of trying to make a barking noise used a clarinet, it was really effective. I want to see it again!!!!!!!
Amazing shows, just saw Arabian nights which was fantastic.
Innovation, passion, creativity, superb performances & productions, a feast for the senses, an exciting & accessible education programme, dedication to introducing new audiences to the incredible world of Shakespeare, surprising & challenging those already under the spell of the Bard; alongside a vibrant range of new works, a dynamic ensemble of people who all contribute to the productions & the audience experience, having the best theatres in the world on our doorstep.
The RSC is so great for the town and brings tourists from all over the world. And I love going to the theatre - it always cheers me up and makes me love the RSC even more!
I love the RSC because they stage beautiful plays in beautiful ways, and allow me (I live in the Netherlands) to enjoy them whether I'm in the UK or not (for example by letting plays be broadcasted on tv). I love the enthusiasm and their ability to let the audience escape to a different 'world' for an hour or two, and by this creating an unforgettable experience for everybody who has ever seen any of their plays.
They provide top quality entertainment in a way that everyone can enjoy The produce and innovative plays in new formats. They provide an insight in the workings of the theatrical environment with their open days and backstage tours They provide educational aspects for youngsters to help them feel that Shakespeare is not out of their reach
It stages the plays of the worlds greatest playwright, with some of the most inspired actors and directors in one of the most beautiful places.
the RSC is one of the most amazing and magical places on earth! these guys are so talented in terms of the acting, the costume design, the stage design and the directing of these plays! absolutely brilliant, and i'm not even from englans (i'm from israel) been there last summer and absolutly fell in love!!
Fabulous productions. Great prices. Big stars. Amazing design and direction.
Even though I live about 3-4 hours away from Stratford by car, I have absolutely no problem with coming up - the productions are so good! I've seen 5 RSC shows in 2 years and each time I have been really pleased. They do £5 tickets for 16-25 year olds too, which it draws younger people to the theatre who might not have chosen that as a night out. Overall, the RSC gets a big thumbs up from me. Plus it's Shakespeare - who doesn't love Shakespeare?
I love it because it is indeed a National Treasure in terms of being one of the Great British establishments. It is a wonderful testament to the great works of 'The Bard ' himself...keeping not only his memory alive, but his superb writings.
They provide superb performances that appeal to all ages There is always a play that appeals to the occasional visitor or routine attendee. Not to mention the actors & actresses ( big star performances ) that enthrall us. Always so welcoming and a joy to visit. Can not recommend highly enough if you have the opportunity to visit.
Their excellent performances really bring Shakespeare to life and they're the best when it comes to Shakespearean productions.
