It is a great place to eat and meet friends staff are very friendly and helpful.There is a nice restaurant to have partys and weddings and there is a large garden to rear. I think it is so good l have booked it for my wedding in june.

This is a lovely country pub, would highly reccomend this to anyone in the area! The food was beautiful with a huge selections from the classics to some dishes with a new twist to them. We sat in the bar area for our meal ( me and my girlfriend) the atmosphere was very relaxed with all the staff being very friendly and gave us the impression that nothing is too mch hassel!
The selection of Cask Marque real ales set a standard for other pubs in this area on how to keep a proper beer.
Overall we had a fantastic meal and were very very impressed with the standards of this little country pub.

I live local to the Golden Cross and although not quite a regular, I do visit fairly often. The pub has everything that a good country pub should have - warm and cosy, friendly staff, a great selection of local real ales and ciders, a fantastic wine list, lovely food and a wonderful garden space for summer drinking and dining.

We had a lovely relaxing lunch at The Golden Cross today. Great service,food and surroundings,together with a roaring log fire - perfect for the chilly weather!

Can recommend the Faggots and also the Broad Bean burger - whether you are a vegetarian or just fancy a change!

They open early evening & stay open all day sunday which is great so you can avoid the rush. Great food & a relaxed atmosphere - especially if you want to read the Sunday papers. Local music on a Thursday night & in the summer a great beer garden to chill out in. Definitely recommend it.

8 of us dined at The Stag last weekend, fantastic food, all served together and hot- beautifully presented.
The steak that I had was cooked to perfection- and the marmalde tart for pud was excellent. The young waiting staff are a credit to the Stag- and well worth the tip !
