Stirling for wet Sundays
Indulge in a spot of retail therapy in the Thistles Shopping Centre. Four light and airy malls give rain-free access to over 100 outlets from department stores to designer chic. Long before the modern mall was invented the Victorians designed shopping arcades. Stirling has a magnificent example off Murray Place with 25 specialist shops.
Listen to the rain beating on the window over a drink beside a log fire in one of Bridge of Allan's traditional inns.
Check out the events guide to see what's on under cover.
Brave the rain and walk through Abbey Craig Forest Park beside the National Wallace Monument. There are sheltered woodlands with magnificent views all along the ridge above the University and Bridge of Allan.
Think yourself lucky that the weather is all you have to complain about. Visit the Old Town Jail to discover how miserable life could be for a 19th century prisoner.
Practise your golf swing in the indoor range at the Brucefields Family Golf Centre. You can demonstrate your complete range of shots at the bunkered greens, chipping nets and targets.
Immerse yourself in the Story of Stirling at the Smith. When the sun comes out again, you will be able to appreciate the city's historic buildings with a new knowledge of what life was like behind their facades.
Like water off a duck's back!. See how the waterfowl enjoy the weather on Airthrey Loch. Remember to bring some bread.
Enjoy watching other people getting wet from the window of an Old Town tea shop.
Relax at the café bar, enjoy live music and theatre or watch a film at the macrobert.
