Strathcarron Hospice is located in Denny, near Stirling.
Situated in the very heart of Scotland, we serve Central Scotland communities throughout the NHS Forth Valley area including Stirling, Falkirk, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
Providing care for people with life limiting illnesses, our dedicated team offers high quality care for patients, as well as support for their families and helpers.
All of our services are free of charge, we receive some funds from the NHS, but primarily we rely heavily on voluntary contributions, fundraising activities and legacies to ensure we remain open.

Our Services include:
Family Support Service including bereavement counselling
Education Department with courses for health and social care workers
Research
Specialist advice for Hospital Palliative Care teams
Telephone Advice Service
In-patient Unit
At Strathcarron Hospice, we can care for 24 people in our In-Patient unit in a mix of single rooms or 4 and 5 bedded wards.
Families can stay overnight if required and there are comfortable day rooms with views out to the countryside and to the gardens.
Our professional, caring staff help patients with symptom control as well as terminal and respite care for those patients whose diseases are no longer responsive to treatment.
Day Care Unit
Our Day Hospice provides an opportunity to access a wide range of services from our specialist team including:
Medical advice;
Nursing support;
Complementary therapies;
Practical help from our Social Work team;
Spiritual support from our Chaplaincy;
Hairdressing;
Creative Activities.
Bereavement Service
At Strathcarron Hospice near Stirling, we provide a bereavement support service, available to people regardless of whether the patient died in the hospice, at home or in hospital.
The service is offered to relatives and friends in a variety of ways.
Anyone who has been affected by the death can receive this support from us - it does not need to be a family member, but could perhaps be a friend or neighbour.
A member of our support team can meet with you to give you the opportunity to talk about how you are feeling and for us to support you through this extremely difficult time.
Guide to becoming a Volunteer
Volunteers are an important part of the Strathcarron Hospice team
Volunteers help with everything from making tea to answering phones, admin support, helping in the shops, gardening, driving, repairs, typing or just spending time chatting with patients.
