We offer the Business Centre if you have 50 wedding guests, the London Room for around 40 and The Walter Scott Lounge for up to 30 guests.
For your wedding reception drinks, why not use our Monastery Gardens and Business Centre, and for the wedding breakfast you can move on to our stunning dining room - beautifully panelled in oak, it can take up to 110 guests.
Finally, our Business Centre is an ideal venue for the evening wedding reception, catering for up to 130 guests. Of course, we also have smaller rooms which are ideal for more intimate wedding receptions or gatherings.
If you are planning a much larger wedding reception, then we can seat up to 200 guests on the lawns, in a marquee. With each wedding being so individual, our marquee will be designed to meet your specific requirements.

That's why as a wedding venue we take so much care over every single detail.
In addition to just providing the full wedding venue, or the wedding reception venue, we also have available a large range of wedding services - including cake making - which are offered together with professional advice on making your wedding day that very special and unique occasion.

The George of Stamford Hotel is close to the local railway station and is only a mile from the A1, one and a half hours north of London. The A47 is just five miles away between Leicester and Peterborough, which is 15 minutes by train, with Cambridge 45 minutes to the south

Having eaten at the George a number of times, the food and service are both very good. Will be returning very soon.
THis place is amazing. We held my parents wedding anniversary celebration here a few years ago, and they could not have done more for us, from a choice of rooms in advance, to flowers and chocolates for my parents, to reserving the best tables in the restaurant and bar, incredible service and food, and the wine list even kept my father happy! THere isnʼt a thing here I would want to alter. Lunch in the garden in the summer is an experience in itself, and the staff are so friendly and helpful - this is what you want from a hotel restaurant.
Wonderful stay at The George. We stayed for just one night in an executive double room and were both impressed with the size of the room. We had a completely separate sitting room, huge bedroom and bathroom. Coffee was served in our room in the morning at a time that suited us, we than had breakfast in the conservatory. This was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had! A HUGE selection and plenty of local produce. We would certainly stay here again.
