I can only praise Faz and the chaps at the Shimla. with Mo as the comic warmly welcomes you. I just dont know how he manages to remember names, drinks and even your last meal. Their commitment to charities is superb.
Everything about the Shimla is second to none.

I hadnt been to the Shimla Palace for a couple of years and it now has different owners.I was very pleased with all aspects of the restaurant.The staff were extremely pleasant.The food was excellent and the service very good.I will not leave it 2 years before I visit again

I'm 54 and had many curries in my time. I had started to find them bland and uninteresting. Then I found Shimla Place. Last Friday 29th July (booking recommended) I had the Narga curry made from Narga chillies. Without doubt the best curry I have ever had. It had fire but not too much, not the fire you get from Chillie powder but from spices carefully merged and perfect balance of chillies. The flavour went on for hours. Simply superb. CHECK IT OUT.
All this served with a smile and good humour and very good value.

I have frequented the Shimla Palace for many years now, and on the whole the food was very good. Current owners (Faz and the team) took over the restaurant in mid-August 2010 and I can honestly say the quality has gone from great to FANTASTIC! Not only is the quality of food is superb but the hospitality is second to none! The 'front of house' chap (Mo) brightens up your day after a hard day at the office, although some of his jokes are a bit dubious ;-) You won't be disappointed with the food at this restaurant. Again, can't recommend the Shimla Palace enough and encourage any curry lover to give it a try!

My husband and I were on a short stay near the Shimla Palace and were introduced to the guys that run it by my brother in law, we got a great welcome and everything was nice and clean, they were busy and I expected a wait but the food came quickly .It was great, the best Indian meal we have had in years and it was very well priced, it was so good we ate there twice in three days! Just a pity we live so far away or they would defiantly be our local!

My wife and family decided to try an Asian Restaurant for New Year’s Eve. A new experience for us all. To say that the evening was a success would be an understatement. It was a superb evening!!
The food was excellent; the staff friendly and obliging, the ambience and clientele fine and all in all it was the right decision on our part. The after-dinner entertainment was of the best!
We wish the new owners every success in 2011. They deserve it. We shall certainly go to this place again.

Fantastic food, wonderful friendly staff. We take our 13 and 11 year old boys and they cater for them brilliantly. Would definitely recommend the Shimla Palace.
