Kingfisher Independent Funeral Services is St Neots' only locally owned funeral directors / undertakers- our premises are directly opposite the gates to St Neots' Town Cemetery. We can arrange traditional, 'alternative' / modern and eco-friendly funerals.
We recognise that every funeral is entirely personal. When you lose a loved one, the sensitivity, competence and time given to you by the funeral directors will be vital and comforting. We therefore ensure that in making funeral arrangements, for cremation or burial, and afterwards for the reception, there is no pressure or time limit on you.
You can spend all the time you want or need with us. We move at your speed - you deal directly with the Kingfisher company director, who is your contact throughout.
With our services, we can help you to tailor the funeral arrangements to be a hugely rewarding and emotionally uplifting experience. By using our facilities in St Neots, there is no '25 minutes at the crematorium.' No feeling of being on a conveyor belt. You can have all the time you want.
You can also hold a funeral service with no vehicles, so making a substantial saving, both ecologically and financially. And, if you wish, you can hold the funeral reception at our premises in Cemetery Road, St Neots. We can also organise bespoke memorials (with no VAT) and we offer a range of pre-payment funerals to suit everyone.
We can arrange the following types of funeral services and ceremonies, for cremation or burial:
The traditional funeral
- A religious ceremony, held perhaps in a church or a crematorium chapel, with hymns, prayers and readings, led by a minister of your chosen faith.
- A funeral procession, with a hearse and following limousines.
- A wooden or more ornate coffin or casket which will be the focal point during the funeral.
'Alternative' / modern and eco-friendly funerals
For those who have lived without God, a religious funeral may seem wrong, even hypocritical. Alternatives are available, notably The British Humanist Association and The Institute of Civil Funerals - we can advise on the merits of each.
- A range of different transport options is available.
- Green and eco-friendly coffins are becoming more and more popular in our changing society.
- There are a variety of locations to hold ceremonies, including our own meeting room in the St Neots cemetery, which is available to anyone and with the advantage of no time restraints.
As a new initiative, we are one of only a few funeral directors / undertakers in the UK to display our prices and our services on our website - we like to be open and honest about all charges relating to a funeral. We will guide you through all the arrangements that need to be made, at your own speed, and make sure you are aware of all the options. We will help you to complete all the appropriate paperwork and provide support throughout the process. No pressure, no selling, no nasty surprises... guaranteed.
