The new centre opened on Friday 16 October 2009. It has replaced the old Huntingdon Street Recycling Centre.
And I have to say its excellent and all under cover so no more sunday mornings going down the tip and getting wet!!
The location and size of the site allows for good traffic management reducing the risk of local traffic flow problems.
Other benefits include:
- Extended opening times to meet customer needs (8am to 6pm every day)
- Split-level access which means any waste can be disposed of without climbing steps
- It's under cover so it's easy to recycle in all weathers
- Extensive landscaping to provide screening and increase biodiversity
Its about time St Neots had someting built that is going to be big enough for the future and not only for the next 5 years. Well done...
