The first of the major events in Southport, The Food & Drink Festival, is being held this weekend. Although poor weather has affected footfall, hundreds of people are taking advantage of the offers made by many of our local restaurants. Combined with a continental market, Lord Street, Chapel Street and the town centre are filled with the aromas of cooking from all over the world.
The next event will be the International Jazz Festival from the 27th to 30th May, when various venues around Southport will be host to greats of the jazz world.
