musical delights!
Book now for performances in Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's next spectacular concert
series - starting in October!
On offer is a thrilling selection of performances given by leading professional musicians, at
extremely affordable prices.
These concerts include solo piano recitals, vocal ensembles, duos, other instrumental groups,
and much more.
This well-established annual concert series has a special concessionary rate scheme, offering
greatly discounted ticket prices for nominal membership costs.
All the performances take place from 8pm at the Plaza Centre (Southend Christian Fellowship
Centre), 600 Southchurch Road, Southend, SS1 2PT, with local parking and facilities for visitors
with disabilities. The new season's exciting schedule is:
Friday 14th October - vocal ensemble, Armonico Consort
Friday 25th November - Violin and piano duo, Min-Jin Kym and Ian Brown perform music
by Mozart, Prokofiev and Faure
Friday 20th January 2012 - solo concert pianist James Lisney plays a programme music
by Mendelssohn, Debussy, Chopin and Schubert
Friday 24th February - piano duo Joanna Smith and Roderick Elms play music by Faure,
Brahms and Gershwin
It costs £7(or £6 for concessions) to join the concert series, and subsequent concert tickets for
members range from £5 to £7. Tickets for members or non-members can be booked online from
www.southend.gov.uk/concerts or via 01702 215011 Mondays to Fridays from 8.45am till
5.15pm. Or why not make the greatest savings by buying membership and booking tickets for all
eight concerts – costing £56 or £49 for concessions.
