‘Bring your bike and enjoy a ride along the quiet country lanes of Warwickshire for a family Bikeathon and raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research or pull on your walking boots for a Summer Stroll in aid of Diabetes UK’ says Lions Secretary Dave Carter.

'When I was asked if Bannatyne's would sponsor this event I could see it is just the type of community fundraising we like to support' said James Walsh, General Manager at Bannatyne's in Solihull.

'To use a phrase from our boss Duncan Bannatyne, I said "We're in". We will certainly be there ourselves and hope that the Lions are successful in attracting lots of walkers and cyclists to raise funds for these worthy causes.’

This year is Leukaemia Researches 50th anniversary – that’s 50 years of fighting blood cancers, so the Lions hope that record numbers of cyclists will sign up now and get their ride sponsored, or at least make a good donation on the day, for this very worthwhile cause. With a choice of 10, 17 or 28 mile signposted routes there is something for everyone

If you don’t ride then bring the family along and take a stroll along the footpaths and canals around Packwood National Trust house, get your efforts sponsored or just make a donation for Diabetes UK. There will be a choice of 2 or 4 mile signposted strolls or a more challenging 8 miles.

Bring a picnic or enjoy something from the Lions bar-b-que

Registration is essential for both events via the Lions www.KnowleandDorridgeLions.com/fundraising-events webpages

or call 08458 33 58 94.
