Hundreds of businesses are expected to attend the biggest event UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) West Midlands has ever held.

Explore Export is the flagship event  of  UKTI West Midlands Export Week and is for those businesses with ambitions of going global or that want to expand their international reach.

The event, which is being held at The Vox, at the Genting Arena, on Thursday, November 11, is set to be the most dynamic and high profile event yet and will include interactive seminars, a drop-in training lounge, a digital zone where Google experts will be on hand to offer advice, business growth exhibitors, and the chance to meet with more than 60 commercial officers.

Over the past three years, almost 3,000 businesses across the West Midlands region – which includes Birmingham, Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire – have received help and support from UKTI, and won a reported £1.7 billion in overseas sales.

This number is expected to grow further during Export Week, which runs from November 9 to 13.

Christine Hamilton, Acting UKTI West Midlands Regional Director, said:

“Explore Export is one of the main events in our calendar and this year will be the biggest we have organised, reflecting the ambitions and scope of businesses across the West Midlands region.

“It offers the ideal opportunity for any business – from the smallest company to major employers – to access a one-stop-shop of advice and support from a range of export experts and from business leaders.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming new faces and seeing businesses we are already working with.”

Export Week gives businesses across the region the opportunity to take part in a series of events that will help them to learn about accessing the international market or discover how they can grow their existing opportunities.

As well as the flagship Explore Export event, the week will comprise events on key overseas markets and sectors, digital workshops, and opportunities for women-led businesses and young entrepreneurs who want to spread their wings into the international market.
