We had an extension completed in 2010. Touchwood provided an initial costing that was clear and transparent. Our plans weren't great, the Touchwood team were able to make recommendations in relation to the structure which greatly improved the internal design. Simon was our main link throughout which proved great for continuity. We moved out of the premises in the initial stages then moved back in with our newborn baby. we found all tradesmen very accommodating, especially with regards to safety and tidiness. Touchwood kept on track with the timescales originally provided and all the team were very professional, hard working, friendly +courteous Extra work was identified during the build due to poor previous work by another firm, this was explained clearly and agreement sought before rectifying (all within timescales.) Having decided on a location and procuring a property for what would be our long-term family home we embarked on an ambitious home extension and renovation project which involved ; 2 bedroom extension, including ensuite, renovated family bathroom, extended kitchen, new utility, new cloakroom, new windows, new boiler and heating system and new porch. Therefore the choice of builders was an important decision for us.

We first heard of ‘Touchwood Builders’ as they were extending a property in the same road as ours directly opposite to us. We were impressed with the work that they had completed for our neighbour and were reassured by our neighbour’s recommendation.

We initially discussed our plans with Simon and Anthony whom took care to guide us through the project stages and advised us of how to maximise the use of space. As a busy professional couple with a young child it was extremely helpful that Touchwood Builders took control of the project from start to finish – from drawing up the architect plans, to managing the build to schedule within cost and taking care of seeking all the relevant planning requirements. It was reassuring to know that when adjustments to the project were to be made we were consulted at an early stage.

Given the scale of the project this could have been a stressful period for us. However, Touchwood took care to provide an environment that made least disruption to us – making sure that the site was left tidy and habitual. We were really pleased with the building work, especially the ‘Quality’ of the craftsmanship. Several of our friends who have viewed the new build have commented on the Quality and finish.

Following completion of our ground floor extension and internal alterations we would have no hesitation in recommending the Touchwood Building Team to others. We used Touchwood Building Contractors for a transformation to the downstairs of our property. We had not undertaken work of this nature before and it was such a relief to find someone who was able to give good advice, work to a high standard and was able to project manage everything for us. Admittedly we did not make life easy by adapting plans as we went along but they just took this in their stride. We would certainly have no reservations about recommending them to others.
