18th December 2012

There's so much to do in Slough this Christmas, from fun family entertainment to ice skating and traditional pantomimes!

To celebrate the festive season in style, we've picked out a few of the best events and the festivities kick off with the Absolutely Magical Christmas Show on the 18th, 19th and 20th December. The show's got a bit of a twist as it's all on ice and there'll be a surprise appearance from a very special guest.

The ice-skating theme continues over at Alexandra Gardens in Windsor, where visitors can enjoy a real ice rink. Non-skaters (and those who just want a break from skating) can explore the quaint log cabin Christmas Market and the on-site food outlet. The ice rink will be available until Sunday 6th January and look out for themed events like the 80's night!

Pantomime enthusiasts are spoilt for choice this year, as the Theatre Royal Windsor hosts Jack and the Beanstalk until Sunday 6th January. This fabulous production features an all-star cast including Matthew Kelly, Anita Harries and Britt Ekland. The Copthorne Hotel are also getting into the panto spirit (oh no they aren't!) with their adaptation of Cinderella on the 27th and 28th December.

Families looking for a seasonal short break will love the Santa Sleepovers at the aptly named Ho Ho Hotel in Legoland Windsor. The next sleepover is on 23rd December and includes a one night stay, the unmissable Legoland Grotto experience and loads of entertainment for the kids.

Also taking place on the 23rd is a special festive event at Herschel Park, where singer Shola Hepburn will be entertaining visitors. She will be joined by harpist Satu Salo and pianist Lenford Quashie. And of course, you can treat yourself to a mince pie.
