My family and I stayed here earlier in the year and we would recommend this hotel.
It was very good value for money, the staff were extremely welcoming and the breakfast (as you can tell from previous reviews) was exceptionally good.

Outstanding Hotel

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times recently when celebrating family occasions in the locality. On each occasion we have enjoyed the same high standards of service and value.

The owners were at panes to make sure that our every need was met - and the full English Breakfasts were memorable.

We warmly recommend this unpretentious and friendly hotel to everyone.

This is a good value for money hotel with a warm and friendly welcome. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean with an attached en-suite. The breakfast includes cereals, orange juice, full English breakfast freshly cooked, toast and a choice of tea/coffee. I can fully recommend the lovely breakfast. I have stayed at the hotel a number of times in the last couple of months and will be returning on a regular basis.

I booked into this hotel at short notice as I was attending a convention in Southport. The hotel itself is basic but comfortable and very good value for the price. The room had enough space and the ensuite was quite big. There was a TV and tea/coffee facilities. But what made the place stand out was the friendliness and the welcome I got. The cooking also stood out. I got a dinner, and glass of wine, for half the price I would have paid in Southport, and the dinner was delicious, not your basic guesthouse fare. The breakfast was a great start to the day - proper English sausages, not the mass-produced commercial variety. I will be staying here again when I am back in this part of England.

We have just returned from a second stay at the hotel. It is excellent value for money - rooms are clean, warm and tidy, with tea and coffee making facilites. The service is very friendly with the owners keen to make your stay pleasant. Probably the best bit is the fantastic full english breakfast! I stay in many hotels and have to say that for quality and quantity my breakfast was as good as a 4 star hotel - freshly cooked to my own taste. We will certainly come back to stay.

I recently had cause to visit Douglas valley Hotel and found myself quite overwhelmed by the friendly reception i was given by liz and Geff, i do not live far from Parbold, and have a lot of family who like visit from Manchester. In future i will not hesitate in booking them into the hotel as i feel they will be in a lovley setting and in good hands

The hotel is a friendly basic hotel which was very welcoming. The staff were efficient and extremely pleasant.
The rooms are OK but fairly basic and a few extras would be appreciated such as bath mats in the shower/bathroom, some larger fluffier towels.
The breakfast was very good, freeshly cooked for us and the portions were excellent. We were offered more of things.
An enjoyable stay.
