The brilliant young Kent violinist Charlie Brown, who entertained us at our Launch, brings some friends from the Royal College of Music. This 'Portrait of the Artist' includes an Ysaye Solo Sonata (the finale of which he played at the launch), two duo sonatas, culminating in the passionate Phantasie Trio by John Ireland (who once lived in Deal). Ravel's Sonata ranges from cool lyricism, through a biting Blues to a scintillating finale, and Beethoven's G major Sonata ends with a dance-like finale of great virtuosity.
This concert is supported by the John Ireland Trust.
