We ordered a plant - a Choisya 'Aztec Pearl' - online, but when we arrived to collect, Nick kindly offerred to give us a choice of Choisya varieties that he had and was happy to explain their differences and give a view on any questions we had. We really appreciated Nick's easy manner and the depth of his plant knowledge. We came away with two healthy plants and after visiting, will definitely look at Harley Nursery again when we need plants in future.

How sad it is that more people do not choose Venue 1886 at the Greenhous Meadow for their Sunday lunch! Once again we were treated to a lovely three course meal, beautifully presented and friendly, attentive service, why oh why do so few people take the opportunity to enjoy? In the past I have had mixed experiences but rarely does the food disappoint and this time improvements have been made, particularly in the plate department! Lovely, large plates for our main course and this is not about the size of the portion (which is always on the generous side), this is about the fact that there is plenty of room on the plate to see all that is there and of course it looks so much more appetising when not squashed up! The beef is always excellent and yesterday was no exception. It may be a little quiet for some, I have heard that the "lack of atmosphere" puts people off but on the plus side there is no banging and clanging of chairs on bare wooden floors, no constant hub bub to restrict conversation within your own group. Value for money, ample parking, good quality, well presented fare and all with attentive service; what's not to like?
