Want to be a teacher?

Shrewsbury students who are thinking about teacher training can get a taste for the profession thanks to Edge Hill College of Higher Education.

The Lancashire Institution, which has been training teachers for over 100 years, is holding an open evening at the Shirehall on Tuesday February 28 from 6pm. It is the perfect opportunity to learn about areas ranging from Foundation Degrees to HLTA courses for Teaching Assistants.

Edge Hill College of Higher Education works with Shropshire County Council and boasts a tremendous number of teacher training study choices through their outreach centre in Monkmoor.

Robert Smedley, Dean of the Faculty of Education, said, "Our open evenings offer prospective students a valuable insight into our facilities and courses. We are keen to convey that whatever qualifications people have, Edge Hill can map their route to teaching - if the will is there, there is often a way."
