A celebrity chef will be serving up treats to people who visit the West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show, which opens at Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury on Saturday, October 5.

Marcus Bean, a regular on ITV’s This Morning, has agreed to give live cooking demonstrations with tasters, promoting the fantastic food people can cook in the great outdoors using caravanning and camping barbecues.

He will be passing on cooking tips on Sunday, October 6 from 11am and on Friday, October 11 from 2pm. The show, which runs until October 13, is free to attend.

Marcus, who has also appeared on Good Food’s “Market Kitchen”, Channel 4′s “What’s cooking” and “Drop Down Menu” and Food Network’s Christmas special with Matt Tebutt and Lisa Faulkner, runs Brompton Cookery School from a barn conversion on a National Trust property at Atcham, near Shrewsbury.

Tony Bywater, Salop Leisure’s chairman, is delighted that Marcus has agreed to give the two cooking demonstrations at the show, which is packed with entertainment for all the family.

There will be also a live jazz band on the two Sundays of the show, as well as crossbar coaching for children from local football coaches using an inflatable goal, face painting and balloon sculpture.

Mr Bywater said the show will give the public the first chance to see the latest innovations in new 2014 caravan holiday homes, touring caravans and motorhome models. Around 40 new models will be on display at Salop Leisure’s impressive sales centre and holiday home village based at Emstrey.

Swift Caravans will be taking the wraps of its revolutionary SMART construction of touring caravans. The new timberless body frame uses PURe, strong polyurethane material that is impervious to water and has a modern, aerodynamic shape.

The popular event, which attracts thousands of visitors from across the UK, aims to be a one-stop-shop for existing owners and newcomers wishing to buy their first caravan or motorhome.

A team of experts will be on hand to guide first time buyers through the complete process, which also includes helping to find the ideal park location for caravan holiday homes in the Heart of England, inland Mid Wales or the Mid Wales Coast.

A caravan holiday home and park finding zone, promoting around 20 top quality parks in individual marquees and an extended accessory superstore with price reductions on many lines.

Parking and admission to the show are free and tickets are available to download at www.caravanevent.co.uk.
