Shrewsbury-based caravan dealership Salop Leisure says the run up to Christmas has been the best in the company’s history.

Apart from opening a popular Santa’s Grotto at weekends from the end of November, the company’s Love Coffee restaurant has been busy with its festive menu and sister business, Love Plants, has been selling Christmas trees, wreaths and floral displays.

“The whole Christmas build up has been absolutely unbelievable,” said Salop Leisure’s chairman Tony Bywater. “We have tried to make our sales centre a winter wonderland, which has been very well received by customers.

“Takings in Love Coffee have broken all records and Love Plants is ending the year with a flourish. It has been the busiest December in the company’s history in terms of visitors to our business.”

Santa’s Grotto will be open on December 14, 15 and 23 from 10am to 4pm and on Christmas Eve from 10am to 3pm, with a £6 entry fee including a present and a photograph. In addition there will be children’s entertainment, including face painting, a colouring competition and card making, on December 14, 15, 22 and 23.

While the children enjoy the ‘grotto experience’, parents are able to enjoy a menu of festive treats in Love Coffee or buy a real Christmas tree at Love Plants, which has freshly cut Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce Christmas trees in a variety of sizes, starting from £20.

Salop Leisure and Love Plants will open for most of the festive season, excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
