She may not have progressed to the Final this week but the self styled “Stockport Housewife” Mrs Barbara Nice will be the headline act at Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival’s opening night on Thursday 18th July, at the town’s flagship venue, Theatre Severn.
Visitors to Shrewsbury Flower Show can be assured of a real whizz-bang finale this year with the news of a new company coming on board to put on the traditional fireworks display.
Organisers of the Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival, now in its third year, have announced that the irrepressible Lee Nelson will perform the compere’s role at the Festival’s Gala Show at Theatre Severn on Sunday 21st July.
It was massive hit back in 1997 when the film about a group of unemployed Northerners worked their way out the dole queue by taking their kit off and now The Full Monty has now been adapted for the stage and is wowing Shrewsbury audiences.
