As a student of Junsei Ryu for 9yrs, I can tell you that the sensei (Dr Ash Mckee and Taran McCarnun) are both knowledgible yet modest men. They try to keep to japanese tradition and embody the japanese way even in their private lives.

They will teach you the fundamentals of JuJutsu (also KobuJutsu if you like weaponry) and then they'll teach you the details that make you a far better martial artist.

If that interests you then come visit The Wilfred Owen School, Shrewsbury on Tuesdays (6pm-9:30pm) and decide for yourself if Junsei Ryu is the club for you.

P.S. Don't expect an easy ride to black belt from Junsei Ryu - they're not about that, as and when you deserve it you will receive it.

If youʼre after practical self defence classes in Shrewsbury, look no further! My Sensei at Junsei Ryu (Ash McKee) has over 30 yearsʼ martial arts experience and is great as an MA teacher - highly qualified, patient and friendly. The classes can be tough, donʼt get me wrong, but are always fun plus superb for body conditioning & strengthening. Iʼve made some great friends there too.
