Harley Nursery near Shrewsbury has been owned and run by the Murphy family since 1990. Their 6-acre site is renowned for its fruit trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and hedging.

Harley Nursery specialises in plants that you cannot buy in most garden centres. Some of their shrubs, for example, are new releases, grown specially at Harley. Their bare root hedging (November - March) is also hard to find elsewhere.
The garden nursery in Shrewsbury even has a Demonstration Arboretum. Planted in 1990, the arboretum shows people how their trees will grow over 10 years, 15 years….
Formal hedging - beech, privet, laurel, yew.
Fruit trees - apples, pears and plums through to quinces and mulberries.
Soft fruit bushes - raspberries, tayberries, blueberries, loganberries, grapes….

Do yourself a favour and get beyond the typical "no value add service levels" that we are all made to suffer and bear from the multi-national chains. Harley Nursery donʼt simply sell great treeʼs / shrubs and the like (although the quality of the produce is flawless) - they will listen and guide you through the infinate product options, tailoring your selection to the specific environment and even manage the planting / layout should you need help from start to finish. Fantastic stuff - service the way it should be.
Excellent collection of well grown out of the ordinary trees and shrubs. The fruit trees are well worth a visit on their own merit.
