I'd like to say a big Thank you to the Black Code crew, who unlimited & remapped of my VW T5, I'm just back from a trip in France I filled the tank at Dunkirk & went from the North of France to Portiragnes Plage in the south at driving at 60/65mph a total of 680 miles & arrived with 1/4 of a tank left I'm 100% certain the eco map made a difference for me, by the way I was fully loaded. Many Thanks Guys
The remap is great the car has plenty of torque and revs like a 16v petrol.
The car is definitely smoother to drive and clearly has a lot more acceleration available when so required. Even though my days as a boy racer have almost passed, it is definitely comforting to feel that there is more available under the right foot when required. The difference being most noticeable at speeds above 1800 revs when the turbo begins to wind up. So far, I am happy to say, there have not been any teething problems. I have not as yet, seen any real difference in the fuel economy despite the "economy mapping" but on the plus side, at least I have more power with no less economy. I have not as yet, done any motorway driving and I should imagine that that is when the difference is most noticeable. Anyway, so far so good thank you.
The remap has made a big difference to the van. Very noticeable when pulling uphill with a load in the back, or when overtaking HGV's etc. Passengers are quite suprised when I put my foot down and usually remark that they didn't realize vans went this fast! I'm sure it's more economical too, however I didn't have it long enough beforehand to get any fuel consumption figures.
I'm very happy with my map, its performing better than when I initially got it done. This may be down to my driving style and how it's changed since getting the map or it may just be that its exceeded what you foresaw. Glad I made the right decision and you are recommended by me to all who are considering a remap in the future. You'll be the franchise i'll be proud to plug.
Overall I am very pleased with the results and would list my findings as follows: better mpg by about 2mpg. Better mid range power and smoother. Between 50 and 80 mph the car is more responsive and stronger.
I now have much more power as I had assumed, but also as I keep reading and hearing the driveability of the car has changed, more responsive but also the gearing seems to match the car better. I swapped cars with my mate, his is a 225bhp and he was impressed saying how well it pulled through the gears, and with my scorpion exhaust and new pipercross filter it was a match to his!
The quality of service was excellent as is the performance and fuel. Does exactly what it says on the tin, brilliant.
I am very pleased with both my Vivaro Van and my Discovery 4. They both perform a lot better, acceleration is notably smoother and faster and there is a noted improvement in fuel economy. I would say between 3 and 4 miles extra to the gallon. With the amount of miles I cover and by the time I have reclaimed the VAT and set it against tax, it won't take me long to recoup my investment and, at the same time, the vehicles are even better to drive.
Good improvment on torque but mpg not much better yet but I have not had chance to use it on long runs yet so I will keep you posted.
I'm really chuffed. I'm not sure what power the bus is now delivering (an estimated 212bhp from your power map) but the numbers are actually not relevant. What I have got is much better drive ability with a much earlier pick up and a broader rev range making the bus much more relaxing to drive whilst being quick at the top end. As soon as I can afford it I will talk to you about the next one!
Following your 're-mapping' a recent round trip to France resulted in the following performance figures: Shropshire to Charente mileage 693m time, 12.24 hours. Average speed 56mph. and 36.7mpg. Charente to Shropshire mileage 709m time 12.07 hrs. Average speed 59mph and 35.7mpg. An improvement of approx. 15% on previous figures on same journey. BEST INVESTMENT I'VE MADE THIS YEAR!!
All good, enjoying the extra power. Not sure yet how much more mpg I am getting but there is definitely some improvement.
It has greatly improved the throttle response Lee. The overall driving experience is a lot smoother. Really pleased with it.
The car's running very well at the moment. Nothing bad to say about it at all! Very smooth and less laggy.
All good thanks, car running fine now since remap on Friday and the miss fire has gone completely. The car is like a new one very pleased thanks.
T5 going OK thanks, very pleased with the results. Still early days as I don't do that many miles to see how the fuel economy is!
Just to let you know yes I think the car has slightly more power than before with the plug in (although the plug in was turned up high), but for sure the power delivery is so much smoother and the engine is a lot quieter under load as I used to get what I would call an injector rattle under load with the old plug in, so overall very happy with re map and also very happy with the service. So many thanks to you both.
Just achieved 73mpg from Newport to Shrewsbury. Not bad! Drove conservatively but steadily. Power delivery much improved, better throttle response and less wheel spin in lower gears somehow. This is a great map! Thank you!
It's awesome mate, driving to Oxford and gone from 45 to 54 mpg, drives beautifully as well.
Map has got rid of turbo lag. Lot better to drive but have not noticed better mpg yet. Overall very pleased thanks.
Just given the car It's first decent run since remap. Mostly motorway. Effects are quite subtle, still feels like the same car, but on a good day. Noticeable difference for in-gear acceleration when speeding up to merge traffic etc.
Just to update on the performance and fuel economy as you asked on our Honda civic.Well we are very pleased with the performance and the extra power it has and it is certainly smoother on the throttle. The fuel economy is better but only by about five miles, we were getting about 44 to 45 miles per gallon now its 49.5. You and your team are a great bunch of hard working cheerful and pleasant lads. Nice to do business with you. Hope to book in for a full valet and window tints soon. keep up the good work.
Very happy with the performance. The van is like it should have been from the start. Real smooth.
The map is going really well. No problems at all. There seems to be a continuous pull through the gears and also stronger. A very smooth powerful drive.
