It's not long till Bonfire Night now, everyone... That joyous time of year where kids spend hours collecting firewood only for dad to say they're not old enough to light it and he gets to do the fun part.
So what are you planning for Bonfire Night 2011 in Shrewsbury? On Sunday 6th November it is the Shrewsbury Bonfire and Fireworks Display at the West Mid Showground. That's usually a winner. Or if you're having a bonfire yourself, have you got your fireworks sorted? We always recommend The Giant Party Shop if you need some.
I don't know about you but when Bonfire Night arrives, it seems to kick-start that ol' Christmas feeling. The nights have drawn in... you have your hat and scarf on... you're feeling all glowy (or maybe you're just standing too close to the fire). It's less than 100 days to Christmas already and no doubt the decorations at Harrods have been up for weeks. But it's all exciting stuff. Hallowe'en, Bonfire Night, Christmas. And my birthday in between, which is the real celebration of course. Well, it won't be next year as that's the big 4-0, and I will be crying in a corner somewhere, wearing slippers and smoking a pipe.
