Two years ago, Sheffield University established The University of Sheffield Enterprise Academy (USEA) with the aim of supporting the University's commitment in ensuring all 25,000 students have the opportunity to embrace enterprise education as part of their degrees.

Transforming the curriculum across all disciplines to further enhance students’ learning experience as well as boost their confidence and employability by integrating enterprise education, The USEA aimed to:

  • provide staff with consistent and sustainable support through a centralised, accessible and recognisable hub,
  • offer one-to-one support for those wanting to implement curriculum development projects in enterprise education,
  • provide staff with opportunities to learn and develop innovate teaching methods
  • give a wealth of free resources and financial support to implement their plans.

The National Enterprise Educator Awards recognise excellence within enterprise education and aim to reward and celebrate those who have demonstrated an exceptional and inspirational commitment to supporting student and graduate entrepreneurship in Further and Higher Education in the UK - hence why The University of Sheffield is named the UK’s top enterprise educator!

The Directors and staff at The University of Sheffield are absolutely delighted by this fantastic achievement and are elated to be recognised nationally for their approach.
