It's Christmas week, surely not so soon?
I'm really not ready, there's no tree in our room!
The lights they don't work
And I feel like a berk
As I slither and slide
Down the path at the side.
There's a turkey to stuff
And I feel a bit rough
From too much mulled wine
and mince pies before time
But I will get through it
so I'd better get too it:
I have presents to wrap
and a tree to put up
and pies to bake
and a wreath to make
and parsnips to roast
and glasses to clean for a Christmas Day toast!
There's really no way
I'll be relaxed on the day
I'll worry and fret
That the jelly won't set
And the turkey can't possibly cook in time
Oh, pass me another large glass of wine!
