Councillor Geoff Martin speeds things up

Good on you Geoff!

Rugeley councillor Geoff Martin has dug deep in his pocket to stump up £2,500 of his own money to repair a pot-holed road in the town centre.

Geoff decided to pay for the relaying of part of Back Lane, where it enters a car park run by Cannock Chase Council, after getting fed up with work being delayed.

He said repairs had been put back repeatedly because the affected area is owned by the Earl of Lichfield’s estate which meant that Staffordshire County Council couldn’t do it.

We all know how frustrating it can be when red tape gets in the way of action so good on Geoff for stepping in!
