For the last 11 years, the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum has been hosting its ‘Rugby Open’ event.
An exciting showcase of local artistic talent, this year’s exhibition features work from artists based in Rugby and surrounding areas. including Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton and Kenilworth.
This year, 87 artists have submitted almost 200 works between them in a range of media, from painting and photography to sculpture.
With many of the works on sale, the Rugby Open gives local art lovers an opportunity to enjoy and nurture local up and coming artistic ability, as well as giving the opportunity to buy a truly unique Christmas gift.
The exhibition has been on show for almost five weeks already and runs until December 31st 2011, with the artworks all hoping to win one of the five prizes on offer.
The Rugby Open is just one of the exhibitions that has been on show at the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum over the past year.
As well as a changeover of the fascinating Social History Gallery, re-opening on December 20th and featuring photographs items donated by members of the public, there will be more temporary exhibitions throughout 2012.
