CHRISTMAS WINDOW DRESSING WINNER A REAL SPECTACLE!

Halsey Opticians has been announced as the winner of this year’s hotly contested annual ‘Best Dressed Christmas Window competition’, organised by Rugby First and judged by the Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Gwen Hotten.

The opticians based on Regent Place, beat off tough competition, for their magical festive window display, from a record number of entries to scoop the top prize of a magnificent cup.

Dawn and Daryl, who put the display together, said:

“We were so excited to win the competition and receive the trophy from the Mayor. It was fun putting the display together and it’s been great to see so many people stop, smile and enjoy it. I understand there were a lot of entries so next year we are going to have to work extra hard to retain the trophy. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Aftab Gaffar, Rugby First Operations Director, said:

“Every year the popularity of the competition continues to grow and it was particularly pleasing to see so many non-retail businesses involved. The volume of entries meant we introduced a runners-up prize this year which was awarded to Salters of Rugby, located in High Street. A big thank you to all those businesses that took part and for creating some amazing window displays which really add to the Christmas shopping experience.”

The next opportunity for businesses to dress their windows and ‘Wow’ their customers, with colourful and creative displays, will be the St. Georges Day Festival taking place in the town centre on 23 April 2012.

Well done to the team at Halsey Opticians who have shown once again how to look great on the high street.
