Don't let trapped condensation make your windows look bad!!
Unfortunately, double - glazed windows can sometimes have condensation trapped inside them. It happens when the seals around the glass break down and allow moisture enter in between the glass pains. Generally speaking, your windows can be solid and in good order but the one thing that spoils the look is trapped condensation in winter or stains left inside the glass by condensation in summer.
As you can see by the photo’s below, these sealed windows have been left too long and damage has occured. Over time, moisture has entered between the glass panes and has turn into water droplets.
Come summer the moisture evaporates and a mineral deposit is left making your precious windows look dirty. If you allow this to happen, your windows may have gone past the point of no return and the unit will have to be replaced.
Why did my sealed units break down and mist up in the first place?
The main reason for a sealed glazed unit to break down is age and the weather.
The great British weather is the main protagonist here as heat and cold make your windows constantly expand and contract. Air is sucked in and out from between the glass panes eventually allowing damage to occur.
Badly manufactured sealed units or poorly installed ones can also be the cause but what ever the condition of your windows help is at hand.
