Nicola Emmerson Trust Information

The Nicola Emmerson Trust was formed in 2009, two years after our daughter died whilst out celebrating her 20th birthday with friends. Nicola did not die as a result of accident, drugs or alcohol her heart simply stopped beating, medical term Sudden Cardiac Death.
With our continuous fundraising and your support we can retain a researcher at Papworth Hospital to research into the cause and prevention of sudden cardiac death in young people. 12 young people die every week of undiagnosed conditions, some 80% of deaths occur with no prior symptoms like our daughter which is totally devastating for bereaved families by leaving very little or no answer about what happened to their loved ones.
