On Saturday 18 April 2015, the Mayor and Mayoress of Whitworth, Councillor Mr Jim Mellor and Mrs Susan Mellor, pictured here, will host Whitworth’s Civic Dinner and Dance.  The event takes place at the Riverside (Whitworth Civic Hall).  Tickets for the event are now on sale.

The evening will feature a sumptuous four-course dinner, provided by local caterers Lords, followed by live musical entertainment from Whitworth’s multi-award-winning Vale and Healey Band, who will be playing foot-tapping swing tunes, followed by a disco.  There will also be a raffle to raise money for the Mayor of Whitworth’s Charity Fund.

The Mayor says: “Susan and I have had a fantastic year as Mayor and Mayoress, and we’re delighted and very excited to be bringing our year in office to a close with a bang by hosting the Dinner and Dance.  It should be a great, fun evening; the Band are fantastic at playing toe-tapping swing music and I’m sure they’ll have everyone on their feet, as will our DJ.  The evening is open for anyone to attend and we’d be delighted to welcome as many people as possible.”

Tickets are priced at £27.50 per head, and are available now from Karen Douglas, Whitworth Town Clerk on 01706 852018 or email info@whitworth.gov.uk.   Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, with black tie or lounge suits for the men and evening wear for the ladies.
