Officers from the county council’s trading standards department will be at Waitrose store off Alma Road between 9am and midday to mark National Consumer Week.
They will also be at Asda’s Chandler’s Ford superstore this afternoon offering shoppers consumer advice and giving away pocket-size guides on people’s rights.
Hampshire’s leader Ken Thornber said: “National Consumer Week, provides an ideal opportunity for people across Hampshire to benefit from the expert knowledge of our trading standards team. Their advice and tips can help people gain a better understanding of their rights when buying goods and services.
“The aim of National Consumer Week is to help traders stay on the right side of the consumer law, which not only protects the interest of their customers but also promotes good business.”
