Car parking fees rise

Test Valley’s transport bosses are behind a raft of parking increases across the borough and the move which is likely to be unpopular with motorists, is aimed at balancing the council’s books.

Parking will cost an extra 10p an hour in short-stay car parks unless your stay is less than hour, in which case the rise is 5p.

Medium-stay, five hours, will rise by 20p.

The cost of long-stay parking, five hours or more, is unchanged.

Besides the rises, Romsey’s Crosfield Hall car park will be converted to medium stay bays in a bid to encourage more shoppers to use it.

Long-stay parking will be introduced at the Princes Road site at the same time and this is aimed at people who work in Romsey.

A maximum four-hour stay will be introduced at Newton Lane car park.

Circle invite NEW members are being invited to join the North Baddesley Friendship Circle.

Meetings are held in the village hall on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm.
