Local Lad Mark Whickham who owns The Hayrake Brewery at The Rake in Rochdale has come 2nd in the Whitby Beer Festival this week.
His award winning ales, made with 4 different organic hops and secret recipes of herbs and spices are all made in the micro-brewery in Littleborough and are distributed country wide to independent pubs and restaurants.
If you are a connoisseur of fine ales then you need to find yourself up at The Rake Tapas restaurant to taste these wonderful beers, from Autumn Gold to Dawns Dark Side you will not be disappointed.
Marks next venture is to the Darwin Beer Festival in September where I am sure he will gather yet more awards.
