Volunteering at Springhill Hospice gives me the opportunity to share my passion for art, teaching watercolors to others. Art is a therapy and I see this time and time again when painting. It gives you time to escape your troubles and we all need that at times. So little of my time gives others so much pleasure.

What inspired me to become a volunteer at Springhill Hospice was, after visiting one of my clients there and meeting some of the patients and volunteers, the doctors and nursing staff, whose love and dedication is second to none and seeing for myself the wonderful friendly atmosphere it holds.

I have worked in many parts of the Hospice over the past sixteen years, each one very rewarding, giving love, compassion and support to many patients and their families. I feel privileged that I have been able to do this and hope I can carry on for many years to come.

I have made so many friends and feel that if I ever needed help or support in the future there would be many who I could turn to. To me Springhill Hospice is one big family which I feel privileged to belong to.
