Springhill Hospice has provided specialist palliative care in Rochdale since it was first opened in 1989. It offers high quality in-patient, day hospice, outpatient and 24 hour advice line (01706 653 555) care for people with life-limiting illness.
This high standard of care is also extended to patients' carers and families. Springhill Hospice is an independent charity (No 701798) and relies on voluntary contributions in order to keep its doors open and maintain its exceptional level of care.
About Springhill Hospice
The philosophy at Springhill Hospice encompasses all aspects of care including the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients. This highly professional approach allows Springhill Hospice to meet these needs in an environment which is both safe and relaxed.
The hospice has a 16 bed in-patient unit with seven single rooms and three multi-occupied bays, with lounge facilities, internet access, widescreen TV and DVD system available for patients to use.
Staff at Springhill Hospice are trained to the highest possible standard, fully CRB screened and constantly updating their skills to match the latest developments in the care profession.
Fundraising
The cost of running the hospice is £7,400 per day and around 70% of this cost must be met by fundraising efforts from the Rochdale community. As one of Rochdale's most proactive charities Springhill Hospice organises several events per year, its own Lottery game, runs charity shops and recycling banks.
Members of the public can help by organising their own fundraising events, volunteering, taking advantage of the Gift Aid scheme, purchasing hospice merchandise, joining the Circle of Friendship, making a one off donation or a regular amount by standing order.
