Winter Training Programme for Businesses Gets Underway

Throughout February and March the council's winter training and support programme for businesses will be taking plaxe.

Topics discussed range from sales, marketing and finance to the business opportunities offered by the on and off-shore wind sector. Places are free to borough businesses!

The Business Breakfast on Thursday 2nd February at Heywood Sports Village is one of the highlights of the programme. Business people will get the chance to ask Leader Councillor Colin Lambert any questions or queries they may have and network with other businesses.

Councillor Peter Williams, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Economic Development, said: “We’re responding to the challenges businesses are facing in these tough times by providing training on business basics, such as finance and customer care, but also looking to the future and the opportunities new technologies and industries might offer to local firms.”

For established Rochdale borough businesses employing less than 250 staff the courses are free, make sure you book in time to avoid disappointment as these courses are very popular.

Find out more about the Business Breakfast and which courses would help improve your company at www.rochdale.gov.uk/business or call 01706 926641 or email lucy.pinto@rochdale.gov.uk to book your place.

The council has also recently announced the Rochdale Borough High Street Foundation. This will focus on creating new, sustainable high streets for Rochdale. A high profile launch event is taking place on the 15th of February attended by Reggae Reggae sauce star Levi Roots, who first came to our attention on BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den. Levi will present the keynote speech.
