World Book Night
Local book lovers are being called on to help give away over 1 million books on World Book Night on 23rd April.
Richmond Council's libraries will be supporting the event which aims to increase interest in reading throughout the country.
To be one of the 20,000 givers on the night you need to apply at www.worldbooknight.org
Those selected as givers will hand-out 48 copies of their favourite book chosen from a selected list of 25 titles. To be selected people will be asked to say in up to 100 words why they want to give away the chosen book and the sort of people they would like to give it to.
World Book Night is organised by The Reading Agency, the independent charity working to get more reading to more people, and supported by BBC 2.
