Richmond upon Thames looks set to be a sea of red, white and blue, as the borough gears up for a record number of street parties to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Council has received 175 requests for street closures to make way for open air parties to celebrate the special occasion keeping the borough in the running for the most street parties in London. It is almost double the number held for Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton.

Celebrations are set to take place across the borough as patriotic residents come together to make it an event to remember. But it is not too late to be part of the fun – as residents who want host their own street party have until 18th May to apply.

Residents can apply for a street party license for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee online via:  www.richmond.gov.uk/street_parties

If you need any extra help with your application call the council on 0845 6122 660. If you are a resident in the borough who attended a local street party for the Golden Jubilee, have photos and plan to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in the borough, we would love to hear from you.
